Be sure that you are given options. There are many types of window coverings, a company with plenty of options means they are most interested in fulfilling your needs, not what they are limited to selling.

   Ask questions. Be sure that your consultant is knowledable on each product presented. There are different height and width specification limits for each individual product. If your consultant does not know the limits, you run the risk of ordering a window covering that cannot be manufactured. Ask for references.

   Know the time frame of production. They should be able to give you a specific time frame. Blinds should only take a maximum of 2-3 weeks, and shutters should only take a maximum of 6-8 weeks.
